| Description | This course provides students with the history of the emergence of misconceptions from the dimensions of the inventor of chemistry and how chemists convey chemistry to the process of teachers conveying chemical concepts from original inventors in class. The sequence of this process needs to be known to prospective chemistry educators who will teach basic chemistry concepts to beginning chemistry learners or high school students. This course will equip students to prepare themselves to teach correct chemistry concepts and minimize the emergence of student misconceptions. Basic materials that are often thought to arise as misconceptions have been chosen to equip students before teaching practice at school. In this course, students are also provided with ways to prevent misconceptions and they will be asked to prove and look for chemical concepts that students at school tend to believe incorrectly by conducting surveys. |
