| Description | This course provides students with various knowledge related to basic chemistry. Students are expected to be able to study basic chemical concepts in depth regarding the interrelationship of macroscopic, microscopic and symbolic aspects of chemistry which include: basic chemistry; materials and their changes; concepts of atoms, molecules and ions; stoichiometry; reactions in solution; gas; quantum theory and electronic structure of atoms; periodicity of elements; chemical bonding: basic concepts, molecular geometry and atomic orbital hybridization; physical properties of the solution; chemical equilibrium; acid and base solutions; chemical equilibrium in acid-base solutions; solubility equilibrium and solubility product; thermochemistry; chemical kinetics; and carbon compounds. |
